The value of reproducibility and a positive error culture in science
Speakers:
- Prof. Susann Fiedler (Vienna University of Economics and Business)
- Dr. Jamie Cummins (University of Bern)
Large parts of science lack reproducibility and transparency: researchers often do not share their data and methods. Combined with a toxic error culture, where researchers fear reputational damage when errors are detected in their studies, this hinders scientific progress. Prof. Fiedler and Dr. Cummins will present ways out of this dilemma.
followed by an interdisciplinary panel discussion with the speakers and
- Prof. Leonhard Grill (Physical Chemistry, University of Graz)
- Dr. Thomas Klebel (IDea_Lab, University of Graz)
- Dr. Nicki Lisa Cole (Know Center)
